| | This programme provides high-performing students with early experience of research and a work placement, as well as the opportunity to go straight into Level 2 units, where appropriate, to explore the wider social context of science and to accelerate their course. A weighted average of 80 per cent or more each year is normally a prerequisite for continuing in the programme. Honours is an integral part of the programme. |

| | Standard UWA requirements for entry to a bachelor's degree course. Tertiary Entrance Ranking (TER) greater than or equal to 98, with scaled scores of 85 per cent or more in all science subjects including at least one mathematics subject. Some majors have specific prerequisites such as TEE Chemistry, Physics, Applicable Mathematics and/or Calculus. |

| | Level 1: a science foundation package, group project, electives if required. Level 2 and Level 3: completion of two Science majors, plus research projects and a placement in industry or peer teaching. Advanced standing may be given. The 'accelerated' stream completes honours in 3.5 years (with substantial overloads), the 'enriched stream' in four years. |
