DescriptionThis program trains individuals in the discipline of pharmaceutical science. The emphasis is on the synthesis and modification of pharmaceutics. The course is only offered offshore in Singapore where students study outside normal working hours.
Admission requirementsStandard UWA requirements for entry to a bachelor's degree course. See 'Undergraduate admission' and the Student Rules in the Student Procedures, Rules and Policies section of this handbook. Prerequisites: a scaled score of at least 50 per cent in WACE Chemistry 3A/3B and WACE Mathematics 3C/3D or TEE Chemistry and TEE Applicable Mathematics respectively. A background in biology and physics is useful.

StructureThis course comprises 36 points at Level 1 and covers core chemical and biological units; 66 points at Level 2 covers basic microbiology, physiology, genetics, chemistry and biochemistry; 42 points at Level 3 explores the Chemistry of Drug Design and Development and Biological Chemistry to support pharmaceutical science careers.
