Description: 
   Bioinformatics is the application of computer science and/or mathematical techniques to biology. In this programme, students gain a significant grounding in at least one of the biosciences and computer science/mathematics. Students are able to make computational predictions about biological systems of interest and do the bench-work to validate those predictions.
Admission requirements: 
   Standard UWA requirements for entry to a bachelor's degree course. See 'Undergraduate Admission' and 'University General Rules' in the Student Procedures, Rules and Policies section of this handbook. A scaled score of 50 per cent or more in TEE Applicable Mathematics is strongly recommended, and is a prerequisite for the major in Mathematical Biology. TEE Calculus and TEE Chemistry are recommended.
